TAFNEX™ stands out for its exceptional resistance to environmental factors like water and chemicals. This makes it an ideal choice for demanding industrial applications, from maritime environments to the oil and gas sector. With durability that exceeds traditional materials, TAFNEX™ ensures a longer service life, cutting down on maintenance costs and reducing machinery downtime.
Thermoplastic pipes, manufactured from UD tapes like TAFNEX™, are becoming a popular alternative to conventional metal pipes, e.g., for the oil & gas industry. These pipes come with multiple benefits, including superior corrosion resistance, an enhanced strength-to-weight ratio, and greater cost efficiency due to lower installation and maintenance expenses. The thermoplastic composite pipe (TPC) design, which utilizes UD tape for reinforcement and is shielded by a polymer layer both internally and externally, has become well-established. TAFNEX™ UD Tape is ideal for creating single-polymer composite pipes made of PP, or as the reinforcing layer in multi-polymer pipe solutions in combination with PE or PA.

Bearings are essential components found in a vast array of machinery. Traditionally, they come with high maintenance demands due to excessive wear, regardless of the lubricant used. Bearings made from TAFNEX™, however, not only reduce weight but also boast an extended service life compared to many conventional bearing materials. Consequently, they help in cutting down maintenance costs and reducing machine downtime.

Through the publicly funded research initiative "WI-IN", we are pioneering a novel application for thermoplastic fiber composites: developing power tools for concrete drilling with a focus on optimizing lightweight construction. We are also committed to employing a sustainable and recyclable construction approach by ensuring the material cycle is closed. The production process for the lightweight drill bit involves a combination of Tape Winding and Injection Molding. Upon reaching the end of its product life cycle, the entire component can be mechanically recycled into a compound, ready to be reused in the production of new drill bits.
